Job Description
Experienced manual and automatic screen printer at a growing textile screen printing shop, in Hamburg, NY. Integral part of the production team that is able to complete orders efficiently and on time; maintain high quality levels; adhere to the shop standards of cleanliness, organization and safety. Ideal candidate will be highly-motivated, efficient, and dedicated to help a fast-growing shop continue to expand. Candidate will be responsible for producing screen printed apparel.  Experience with Workhorse Freedom and Javelin Pro presses preferred.  Offering excellent pay, based on the experience of the candidate.

 

Responsibilities

  • Reviews work order for each job to understand placement, location and color(s).
  • Verifies the quantity of goods to be run per job.
  • Preps goods for printing.
  • Secures supervisor’s approval for production run.
  • Set up and tear down of jobs.
  • Prints job maintaining optimum production speed and makes press adjustments to maintain print quality, registration and color.
  • Solves printing issues with supervisor to assure job is done to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Ensures proper cleanliness of press, work station and immediate area.
  • Completes production records. Regular, punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Other Duties

  • Coating, burning, cleaning, and reclaiming of screens.
  • Maintain cleanliness of entire shop.
  • Folding and packaging of completed jobs.
  • Preparing orders for shipping or will call pick up.
  • Set up and tear down of jobs.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in a screen printing production environment.
  • Knowledge of printing techniques (discharge, water based, simulated process, etc.)
  • Knowledge of both automatic and manual presses.
  • Previous experience operating manual, and automatic presses.
  • Available to work flexible hours when needed.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work quickly. Adapt to changing role / demands.
  • Selection of screen mesh count based on job specifications
  • Efficiently setup and run up to 8 color jobs
  • Printing with plastisol and water-based inks
  • On-press trouble shooting
  • Coaching, training and supervision
  • Mechanical abilities

 

Required 
Must be a team player and have the ability to win the confidence of other team members.  Attention to detail through all phases of production.  Must be a problem solver.  Adherence to Company policies and procedures.  Good written and oral communication skills.  Expect 30-40 hours per week from late fall, to early spring, and 40-60 hours per week during the spring and summer months.  Must have own form of transportation.
